Different Strategies For Playing Hitwicket.

by Deep (Deep's Masterpiece) 74 months ago Tips
I have completed 3 months in hitwicket and sharing my experiences with you :-
This post is only for newbies in division V , VI and VII and it is tested and work for sure.
So i will give u all prevailing strategies that are available and in last give mine but i wont discuss them as there more than 100 forum post explaining them so i will only give u the drawbacks and advantages.
.
1) BOWLING TRAINING : - in this strategy v train in bowling and buy only batsman.
.
ADVANTAGES-
a) U dont have to worry about buying both batsman and bowlers . Focusing only on buying batsman               certainly helps.
b) Bowling main training is comparatively faster than batting training.
c) after 3-4 month u will have decent bowler in your squad who balls around 8 star. and as a newbie u cant     buy those from auction as u dont have that much budget.
d) ur trainees helps u perform in youth cup.
.
DRAWBACKS -
.
A) U wont be able to buy average trainees within two month of your joining to hitwicket. as either u will wait for your scout to give them to u .... well that's shear luck or u go for the auction and thats really very hard as u have maximum of positive 1m-2m balance that too in two weeks.
B) training upgrade cost 3.1 m. and u would upgrade ur full training not before one month in hitwicket if u r playing fair . so if u have trainees u wont be able to give them complete quota of training
C) Let us assume that u have gathered the trainees but they wont become match winners before three month of training.
D) u have to deal with toothless bowling for few weeks. and in few weeks u will loose your season.
now v conclude that your team wont be able to perform as u like before 3 month (usual case).
.
2) BATTING TRAINING :- in this v train batsman and try to buy bowler from the auction.
.
.
 ADVANTAGES
all are almost similar as bowling training m just giving u the different ones.
.
A) Buying batsman from auction is much more difficult as most of the managers in hitwicket have opted for bowling training . remarkable / remarkable batsman in the market costs around 3m. whereas a remarkable bowler comes around 2m. as u r training in batting . u will buy bowlers. as they come cheaper. u certainly has advantage.
 .
 DRAWBACKS -
.
A) batting training is comparatively slow... either u start giving batting seam or batting spin training or be patient. but that too is not good.... a imbalance batsman is also of no use... as i have a batsman in my squad . he is brilliant / average . he plays through the medium pacers and get out within one two overs of     spinners. if the other team started off with spinners than he is of no use at all.
B) u have to deal with powerless batting for few weeks and in few weeks  ....sadly u again lost the league.
.
.
.

My Strategy:- KICK OFF STRATEGY.

u have just joined in and u dont have money .. sell your all under 20 players as they are useless as they dont perform as compared to the older experienced batsman . people here are mad for buying the under 20 player. They will even buy your handicapped under 20 player. this will give you money . which in initial stages is the most important thing.
note- but please do recruit your monday scout as it gives 20 mrp and u have one more under 20 players to sell .
- THIS WAS THE PART OF SELLING NOW COMES BUYING -
a) the player nearing to 30 and above 30 are sold in the market half of their fair market price. try to buy  good good players from the market.
b) the players in poor or hopeless form and fitness are sold at very low prices . as nobody bid on them as nobody  wants to pause their skill training schedule and switch for fitness training just for one player. Even  managers sell their players in bad fitness just to continue their skill training schedule. so u do get them at cheaper value.
note - don't exceed your squad more than 16 17 players. otherwise u will be killed by the weekly salary expenses.
TRAINING -  TRAIN IN FITNESS.
as u r buying most of the players in poor or hopeless fitness u do need to give them fitness training.
.NOTE - this is just a kick off strategy.... IT WONT WORK IN LONG TERM. so when u think u have gathered a winning squad. stop buying players and update your training facilities. it will take u upto 4 weeks to upgrade it completely. than start looking for your trainees.
.
ADVANTAGES -
a) U will have a squad better in skills almost within 2 -3 weeks. and this is enough to win u ur current league.
b) u dont have to buy the bowling and batting trainees which are costly than a complete division VII team just formed.
c) u dont have to buy the under 20 player just to register for the under 20 cup. as i know and u know and everybody else u wont even be able to top ur group forget about the knockouts.
.
NOTE - no matter how many senior manager tells u to play for under 20 cup. dont u ever think of it... even if u r applying above two strategies as u will end up wasting all your money for nothing.  The money which can help u winning the league which have the opponents of your standard than to compete against teams whose each player is costlier than your complete squad. for eg- i spend more 7 m in the under 20 cup 4 . Just to play 5 youth cup matches and placed at the number 4 spot in my group.
.
DISADVANTAGES -
a) u need to be hyper active in the player auction
b) FORGET THE UNDER 20 CUP. U WILL HAVE BORING TUESDAYS AND SATURDAYS.
.
.
.
THE ABOVE STRATEGIES ARE BASED ON MY EXPERIENCES ONLY OF THE TWO SEASONS I PLAYED IN HITWICKET . FIRST SEASON WON IN DIVISION VII AND NOW ALMOST WINNING MY LEAGUE IN DIVISION VI.

HERE ARE THE ALL STRATEGIES.  CHOOSE WISELY.

@Deep's Masterpiece. Complete pack, tried the game for a couple of days and loved it. Buying subscription, in this case Musketeership, is my contribution to the development of this game so that I (and others) can continue enjoying for a long time.

@ Marauding Brownies Understood your point about being patient, and development but I want to win a few matches as the players develop. Need to be .500, that's why this thread interests me. I want a hybrid of Deep's strategy and the tried and tested Hit wicket one. Cheers

u could have waited atleast to completely understand what the game is...... i too have taken around two weeks to completely understand what is the purpose of the game and how to play it. but than on the other hand i like your dedication and quick decision making ability.

@Deep's Masterpiece LOL ... I guess the Punjabi in me leads to quick (and often rash, though not in this case) decisions.

Well I am not very experienced player but still I'l share my strategy.

When I joined hitwicket I had 2 good bowlers- 1 was brilliant and other acc in BM, both were spinners. All other players were practically useless. I got 19year old acc/acc batsman from first youth scout

So clearly I was lacking in batting. So I got to market and bought avg and med batsmen and started training in batting.Meanwhile I kept fining youth through scout. I scouted only avg+ players. And I used to sell bowlers I got from scout immidiately. When I got enough money I bought a avg/acc 19year old bat, so now I had 2 fair trainees. Because of them  I won in league7 (there's very less competition in league VII- three blue skilled players and others in green can win you league)

In this season I found 3 rel/rel or rel/avg batsmen through scout. I was already training in batting spin. So their skill increased in 2 weeks. However my training plan was focused on my star player- my fist scout. I used change focus from batting spin to batting seam(and vice-versa) as soon as he got training pop-up.

At the end of this season I got 5 u20 batsmen all having atleast 1 skill in blue and 2 had both batting skill blue. Last week I sold one of them for fairly high price. With the money I got, I bought 2 more aged spinners. So now I got 4 aged spinners all 4 having skill in blue. I also bought 2 17year old batsmen having avg/rel skills, both are also having avg wicketkeeping skills.

So with 4 good spinners I'll change wicket type to crumbling next season and train in batting spin. I'll have 2 batsmen exemplary or prod in 3 weeks and all others rem or acc by the end of next season. After that I'm planning to train in fielding/wicketkeeping till both the wicketkeepers reach acc in wicketkeeping(that will be 4-5 weeks I guess). So then again I'll sell one of them(who will be acc in wicketkeeping and acc/rem in batting) for high price as wicketkeepers get good price in market. With money I'll get then I'll buy more 17years old batting trainees having rel/acc skills and continue with crumbling wicket and batting spin.

Howz that for a strategy? :D
