Does it has any advantages if i do not change the training focus for a few weeks? Like, if I train my batsmen for say 3 consecutive weeks is the SI gained in 3rd week greater than the 2nd, and 2nd greater than 1st?

Hi Jay,

That can't be determined really...it can vary a lot from week to week even when you train the same skill..
You are tracking skill index to figure out when he'l jump to the next level or something else?

@kashyap u didn't replied to my query i asked earlier . My friend joined hitwicket through my invite and fans were added to my fanclub . but he was playing against bot as practice match and not against me .

Can you check it out

I am tracking players skill index so that I can figure out which player/attribute to train next. And from past two weeks the increase is just 30-35 points. player with age 17 years had skill index 934 before training and after complete training it is just 969 and this is consistent with other players too.

@harsh: He din't join via your invite, thats why he din't play a practice match with you. you got 10 fans because he happened to be your FB friend. We've now made a tweak such that even if they join without invite, they will play a match with one of their FB friends.

@Jay: I think you are going about it the wrong way...figure out what you want to train a player in based on his skills only.
eg: if he is already 'mediocre' in batting, then train him in batting till he's atleast 20yrs..

Skill Index is not meant to be a cue for training.

yes Kashyup, I am training him in batting as he is useless and I want him to be good till he can reach his 20's. But I thought if a player pops in any skill that is because increase in skill level, thats why I was tracking the skill index. Isn't that right?

A Medicore player at level 4.0, after 1 week of training becomes 4.2 (say)...so after 5 weeks he becomes 5.0 and you will see him 'pop' in skill.

The SI of a player at 4.2 is definitely higher than a player who is at 4.0

Skill Index increase can vary as it depends on how high the current skill is.
eg: the SI increase per week of training when he is just useless is much less compared to when he's already Accomplished.

This is what I have observed.....apart from what kashyap said....SI will not increase much with every week of training..but it jumps to a very high level when your player pops....for eg....your player is let's say....has SI 100....and every week of training gives him a 10 point increase....but the week he pops...you ll see an increase of let's a 100 more points together.....

@prashantsethi: always make it a point to train the same thing for weeks-months....few weeks really don't add much...no point training someone form 4.0 to 4.2...you want him to be a 8.0 or something.

The skills are what will effect performance, not the skill index (SI is only meant to calculate market value, etc.). So think only in terms of 'skills'.

@Kashyap: Does training continuously for a particular skill set have an advantage over rotating training types every week for the all round development of the team? Or it is just the slower development in the particular area?

Training is extremely slow for old players...it's much more beneficial to train 17-20yr olds.
So more than anything else train the part of the team that has such players. Whether you choose to train them in batting or bowling or alternate between them to turn them into all-rounders is upto you.

Do u mean, will training them int he same skill increase training speed?...Nope nothing like that...it's just that the value of a player goes up exponentially when he's trained to higher skill levels...so the longer you train a guy at the same skill, the better.

How do you play practise matches? I keep reading this in several threads... *confused*

When you invite someone, you play a practice match with them 20 min after they join...

If a user joins without an invite, we check if any of his friends are playing Hitwicket...we pick a random one among them for the match.
If there is no one at all, then they play a BOT.
