Training

If a player opts for training type - Bowling or bowling variation ( assume that the facilities are fully upgraded ) and then he becomes inactive then in two -three seasons he could end up with one of the deadliest attacks. I am assuming such scenarios will be seen when hitwicket is a few seasons old.

I do not think so .. Since the effectiveness is not that simplified .. A lot depends upon the fitness and fielding also. So leaving the training type on only bowling or bowling variation might improve that particular area but there would be significant drop in the other supporting areas resulting in unfavorable results. And also, players age and their improvement  and form and fitness drops !! ...(AFAIK)

Okay...let us assume the team owner has been active for some time and has a good team. And the players are young and have good fitness. Then what happens?
And keep the scenario limited to 2-3 seasons.

@mesanthu (malibu)  excellent answer....cudn't put it any better myself :)

On a bigger picture, by being active you will be training 2 sets (say 6 bowlers) of trainees, while the inactive team will be playing and training only 1 set. So your team will definitely be stronger.

A stupid question, I think I know the answer but just to confirm, number of bowls played will not affect in any type of Batting training right?

Training does take time. Its faster for younger players, so get your trainees right, younger and higher skilled trainee will become awesomer quicker.

Also, just to reiterate, Training up from "Mediocre" to "Average" is easier than "Average" to "Reliable", ie from level 4 to 5 as compared to level 5 - 6. Also the effect of age takes over as well.
